I know I am beginning this post with a high priced product, but I have never been into primers until I used this one. To be honest, I have hated every primer I’ve ever tried, even the highest rated primers. As I was about to give up on looking for the perfect primer, I came across this Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer.
You will notice that this primer smooths out the uneven texture on your skin, and it preps your skin for a flawless makeup application. It truly does help your makeup last on longer, without caking up your face. The primer has a silky feel when applying, and it does not feel greasy or too heavy.
If you’re like me, and you have yet to find a good primer to use, I highly recommend this one. Although it is pricey, there are sample sized to try out, so you don’t have to spend $60 right away!
2. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
Before I get into why I love this product, I want to say that the shade range of the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation is amazing. There are 35 shades, and you will definitely find the perfect shade for your skin tone.
Foundations are tricky to recommend to others because everyone has a different skin type and skin tone. Face products can apply differently depending on your personal skin concerns, so take this review with a grain of salt! I will say that many of my girlfriends have tried this product as well, and they love it as much as I do.
This foundation is relatively high coverage, and it flawlessly covers all of my dark spots and deep acne scars. I love to use this to even out my complexion. Although the coverage is high, the consistency is light, and it does not weigh your face down. It also does not look cakey on the skin, and you don’t need a lot of product to achieve a flawless look.
3. YSL Touché Éclat Brightening Concealer
The YSL Touché Éclat Brightening Concealer is probably the best brightening concealer in the market. Note that it’s not a coverage concealer, so it won’t cover your under eye circles or spots on your face.
The purpose of this concealer is to highlight and brighten certain areas of your face, and this product does just that. I apply this on the high points of my face after applying concealer, and it really brings dimension onto my face. I also apply this under my eyes before foundation, and my foundation always goes on smoothly over it.
This is the perfect concealer to use to enhance your features and brighten up your look!
4. Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
I am sure everyone has heard about this product, but it is famous for good reason. It is also available in three shades—Translucent, Honey, and Translucent Medium Deep.
This powder gives a smooth finish to your makeup look, and it’s perfect for events because this powder does not give flashbacks in photos. The powder is thinly milled, so you don’t have to worry about looking cakey after using this powder. This is perfect for baking, setting, and mattifying!
At this point, you have probably heard about this powder enough, so I’ll end this review by saying the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder is a staple for everyone’s collection.
5. Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush
I never saw the purpose of using blush, until I came across this one. This Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush is the best blush for an everyday look. It gives your face a natural flush of color and has just the right amount of pigment for your face.
There are different shades of blushes in this line, but my personal favorites are the shades “Love is the Drug” or “Ecstacy.” “Love is the Drug” is a brighter, pinkier blush color, while “Ecstacy” is a lighter, peachy toned blush. “Love is the Drug,” is a great shade to start with because it goes well with essentially all skin tones.
6. Benefit Hoola Bronzer
The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is one of the best makeup products of all time. It brings the perfect amount of warmth to your skin, without looking splotchy and messy. I am sure you have heard about this product as well, as it has been a top rated makeup product for years. The Hoola Bronzer is now available in 4 different shades, so you can find one for your skin tone!
My makeup never looks complete without this bronzer. This product can be used as a contour, bronzer, or even eyeshadow. This bronzer never looks cakey or too harsh on the skin, and it blends into your face flawlessly. It is the perfect in between of sheer and pigmented, which is why this bronzer looks so natural on your face.
Like I said, it is a top ranked product for a reason!
7. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
In my opinion, if you have the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, I don’t think you need to purchase any other highlighter. The highlighters in this palette are essential for achieving a glowy and dewy makeup look! This palette is also fairly pricey, but it lasts a long time, and I have not used a highlighter that gives my skin a radiance like this palette does.
I occasionally like to mix these shades together, and the color shows so beautifully on the skin. You can apply this with or without foundation, and it will always make you look glowy in the best way possible. I also like to use this before applying foundation, and the highlight seeps through the foundation giving you a natural glow.
8. Anastasia Brow Powder Duo
I have been using this product since middle school, and I have yet to find an eyebrow product better than this one. The Anastasia Brow Powder Duo is the ultimate brow product for anyone who wants a naturally full brow look. This product comes in 11 different shades, so there is definitely a shade for you!
I use this product with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brush #7B. I love this brush because it is thin, so you can have more control when filling in your brows. It also has a spooly on the other end of the brush, so you can brush out harsh lines and uneven strokes.
This product is also nice because it comes with two shades in one, so you can have achieve the most natural looking brows. I personally like to use the darker shade on the ends of my brows and the lighter shade on the tip of my brows. It works like a charm every time, and it’s basically fool proof!
9. Chanel Les Beiges Eyeshadow Palette
Yes, this is a $65 eyeshadow palette, but if you can get your hands on it, you definitely should. The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadown Palette is available in four different shade ranges —light, meidum, warm, and deep. Personally, I recommend the deep shade, which is shown in the photo above, because it has the perfect shades for everday use.
This is a neutral palette with a few shimmery shades, so you can create a variety of looks with it. The pigment is great, and the shimmery shades look so well on the lids! I will admit that there are many more affordable palettes similar to this one, but I always go back to this palette.
You can use all of the shades in one look because the colors blend so seamlessly together. I cannot live without this!
10. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette is one palette that everyone should have in their collection. This is the perfect warm, neutral palette with a few brighter colors. In fact, I think this would be a great beginner palette because the shades are mostly neutral, but the few pops of color makes it easier to transition into more dramatic looks. You can use this for a day look or a night out look, the options are really endless.
I love this palette because the shades are highly pigmented, and they transfer onto your eyes very beautifully. The shadows blend well into your skin, and each of the colors complement each other very well. I don’t think I have gone a day without using at least one shade from this palette since purchasing it.
11. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
I’m sure most of you have heard about the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, but it is a cult-favorite for a reason! My winged eyeliner is the most important part of my makeup routine, so I need a eyeliner that stays on all day. I have used this product for nearly a decade, so I have seen how it wears during the day, in the scorching hot weather, and even at the beach. Needless to say, it stays on ALL DAY!
This eyeliner does not smudge at all, even after having it on for 24 hours (trust me, I’ve tried it). The tip of the eyeliner is super easy to use, and it allows you have control while drawing your eyeliner.
I can confidently say that there will never be a liquid eyeliner that tops this one. This is truly the best of the best eyeliner!
12. Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon
For any eyeliner pencil users, the Marc Jacobs Highliner is the product for you. It glides on very easily, it’s long lasting, and it’s super pigmented. I think the best part of these eyeliners is that there are so many shades to choose from! There are also different finishes, such as matte, satin, and shimmery finishes.
Another Marc Jacobs Fineliner Gel Eye Crayon is also another great eyeliner from Marc Jacob Beauty. Although there aren’t as many shades, I love to use this on my waterline or even on my eyebrows.
Overall, I think the Marc Jacobs Highliner is a great product to throw in your bag!
13. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
I have recommended this mascara to everyone I know, and now they can’t live without it. Personally, my lashes grow straight, so it’s hard to find a mascara that will hold my lashes up all day. But, that’s where the Benefit Roller Lash comes in to play.
This mascara was actually inspired by hair rollers, and I think it gives the same effect on your lashes. It does an amazing job of brushing through your lashes while holding them up. You don’t need to apply many coats, and this mascara does not clump at all. It also holds your eyelashes up all day, but it is easy to remove at the end of the night.
It is truly an essential product everyone needs in their collection!
14. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick Balm
I can write an essay about YSL lipsticks because they are my all time favorite brand for lip products. Not only is the packaging so elegant and sleek, but the formulation and the quality of these lipsticks are uncomparable. In this post, I will specifically be talking about the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick Balm line from YSL beauty, but honestly, all of their lipstick lines I’ve tried are absolutely amazing.
This lipstick line is great for everyday use because it gives your lips a natural, glossy tint. My go-to shade is ‘#86 – Mauve Cuir’ because it is similar to my lip color, and it enhances the natural color of my lips. Overall, this is a great lipstick to throw in your bag and use throughout the day.

This lip balm is available in different flavors, such as natural mint (my favorite), grapefruit & ginger, lemon, and more. This product is available in many retail stores, such as Sephora and Ulta, as well as on Amazon. So, it is easily accessible, and I think the price is great for the quality of the product.
